Who we are and what makes the bathhouse special.

Dani

Dani discovered medieval markets in 2003 through Freienfels. Since 2006, she has been working at the bathhouse - and is already in a good mood early in the morning for shower and bathing guests.

She is the tub-cleaning whirlwind and makes sure everything is clean, inviting, and ready when the day begins. Since 2007, you can also enjoy relaxing massages with her.

Coffee on the tub steps, chats by the bathing tub, the morning bathing round with reading aloud - Dani is always up for the cozy side of tubbing. But please don't talk to her before 6:30 AM: Dani's speech module only really starts up after the third cup of coffee. After that, she's enthusiastically receptive to gossip and chatter at any time.

At the moment, Dani can only rarely travel with the bathhouse - but every now and then you'll definitely see her on the tub steps.

Doro

Doro started attending medieval markets in 2016 - initially just as a visitor. But fate had it that she met Rufus at her very first market - and they've been close friends ever since.

In 2024, Doro began working at the bathhouse. Since 2025, she has also been available as a masseuse.

Doro is a night owl: during the night shift, she's responsible for the bathing rounds and is therefore almost never to be found at the tub steps before noon. With fresh eyes, she's constantly looking for ways to make our bathhouse more beautiful and efficient, improve processes, and keep things organized behind the scenes. As a queer person herself, it's close to her heart to make Lavabrum a safe space - and tubbing a good experience for everyone.

On the side, you'll often find Doro in the background: she manages our social media, writes articles for the website, answers all kinds of questions, and keeps our event calendar up to date. Whether serious conversations or hilarious antics guaranteed to make you laugh: Doro is there for every single person - with advice, action, and an open ear.

Maria – Badehaus Lavabrum

Maria

Growing up with Robin Hood & Co., her enthusiasm for the medieval era was sparked early on - even though she rarely visited markets as a child: the wish to participate was always there.

During her studies, the way home from ballet led right past a gym where people were training with wooden swords. There she met her future medieval group - one brave question later, she was right in the middle of it all. Since 2014, she's been traveling to markets with the group.

The bathhouse found her through - how else - dog Kili. She actually just wanted to pet him briefly. "Just briefly" turned into years, many conversations, and eventually her first bathing session. Today she usually does the early shift, gets the tubs in shape, and enjoys the first conversations over coffee with the very first shower guests while the market is still sleeping. Sporadically involved since 2022, regularly since 2024 - and today part of the beautiful, colorful bathhouse family.

Rufus – Badehaus Lavabrum

Rufus

Rufus has been roaming medieval events since 1993. It all started with juggling - as a fire-breather and stilt-walker, with various walk acts and as a helper at different stalls.

Rufus came to the bathhouse in 2002. Since then, he has been known and loved as a bather and masseur at medieval markets.

Rufus is the planning genius behind Lavabrum Luxurium: from technology to woodwork to decoration. His ideas and designs give shape to our dream and make it possible for our bathing guests to relax warmly in the tub and enjoy the ambiance.

Rufus also takes care of the website and is basically always tinkering with making www.lavabrum.de more beautiful and user-friendly for you.

Zuberprinz (The Tub Prince)

The Tub Prince has been with you at the markets since 2018. The sole heir and true ruler of Lavabrum Luxurium was practically born on the tub steps and knows every screw, every connection, and every detail of the bathhouse from truly every perspective.

He strictly supervises that the bathing rules are followed, doesn't hesitate to send guests back to the shower, and firmly puts cheeky groups in their place. If you feel addressed, always remember: the instructions of the bathing staff must be followed - no matter how big or small the staff may be.

The Prince takes after his dad and loves helping during the night shift. Here he professionally collects the bathing fees - calculated by himself, of course, because his clever brain simply loves math. He's also responsible for duck hygiene and filling and cleaning the children's tubs. So if you see a small, hardworking busy bee loudly singing - just wave hello to the Prince.

Limited by the Bavarian school holidays, you unfortunately won't see the Tub Prince quite as often at the markets anymore. Whenever possible, he's there and is already looking forward to seeing you!
